One of the greatest benefits of using hypnosis to create changes in our lives is the fact that hypnosis increases our connection with our own hearts.
For may years I felt a strong drive towards creating and writing. Ideas would come to me all the time. Exciting ideas that felt tingly in my body and stimulated my imagination. And yet all too often I would make some notes, browse the internet and then file those beautiful ideas away into the ‘too hard’ basket.
I lived from my fears and just kept on going with my everyday life. I suppose part of me was stuck in the idea that it wasn’t the right time, or that I didn’t have everything I needed. Maybe I even hoped that the ideas would stop coming because having great ideas can often make us very aware of our own sense of shortcomings.
But those ideas kept on coming. Until at one point, I couldn’t ignore them anymore. And, as is often the case, that point became a crisis. A crisis brought on by grief and unhappiness. Suddenly, in the clarity of bereavement, I realised that life was both too short, and too long, to be unhappy.
So I made a choice. I decided to let my heart rule my life rather than my head. I decided that I would live my truth and allow these ideas to take life through me.
Making that decision was a life changer. It has altered my life in so many wonderful ways. Sometimes following my heart has meant making decisions that others warned against. But still I kept going. I trusted that if it felt right in my heart then it was right whatever my head, or others, were telling me.
Following my heart has meant forging a new path. Trying new things. Letting go. Moving on.
Following my heart has led to writing books and creating courses. It has helped me to set up my practice and help others by giving them the tools to develop self trust. Following my heart has led me to my life’s work.
My heart will not let me down. My heart leads me with love and gentleness. My heart holds my hand through the tough times and cheers me through the good.
I have chosen this path because I am following the flow of love in my life. And in so doing I have discovered my love for myself. And it feels good. It feels right.
How are you following your heart in your life? Are there changes that your heart is drawn too but your head is getting in the way? I would love to hear your stories of the times that you have followed your heart into the darkness and discovered beautiful truths that you have been waiting for your whole life…
Much love
